Baby Dresser - Update!

We had this vintage dresser up in the attic (which was Scott's grandfather's). Unfortunately, the color of the wood does not go with anything we have in the house. We checked to see if there was a maker of the dresser to see if I should even touch it, but we couldn't find one.

Scott gave me the green light... so I hope my mother-in-law doesn't kill me for staining it and tell me later it was worth a fortune had we not touched it. Yikes! We really need some more storage now with a baby on the way. I'd rather use what we have (especially a family piece) than buy something new.

My sister was visiting this weekend, so we chose a beautiful piano black glossy stain.
This is turning out amazing! I am not touching the knobs. I am going to save those untouched and put new glass or decorative knobs on.

So, I added the knobs to the dresser but I am not completely satisfied with the outcome of the stain. I think I am going to need to re-sand and put a few more coats of the stain on. That is going to have to wait for a few weeks though! I am still pretty happy with how it looks :)
