Fireplace Project - Inside Painted!

I told you this is DO-CEMBER!!!!

After pricing out the cost of firewood this year, we have decided we are going to switch our wood burning fireplace over to gas. There is already a gas line in the fireplace, so what we were going to pay in wood for one season, we can purchase the supplies to do fire glass!

This will hopefully update our fireplace, it will be a lot cleaner, and we'll save on wood. This is a drafty house and we can go through some serious logs in one day. It will be nice to just turn on a switch and get the heat from it.

My sister & her husband did this to their fireplace and it not only looks amazing but it puts off a ton of heat!!

We have decided to go with clear glass, gold reflective, and platinum reflective glass.

The glass arrived on Friday so today we installed the fire glass!
We decided we need to get some paneling to cover the charred walls inside the fireplace and we also decided the gold & platinum colored reflective glass do not look much different. So we ordered some copper and blue glass to put on top to add some dimension.

Check it out below! I love it!

Real logs just make a mess!

This just looks modern and clean!

Clear Glass - Base

Gold Reflective 1/2" Glass

Platinum Reflective 1/4" Glass

Hopefully, our baby will be doing this next to ours! haha!

My sister helped me organize these difficult book shelves!

We painted the ugly green pots gold too! I love gold!!

Painted inside high temp Silver - on the fence about it though. Maybe white?

Adding this silver lip to keep the stones from falling out!

  1. Aron had a gas fireplace installed for me last Christmas and I love it! It's been so cold this year we've been using it constantly and it costs next to nothing to heat the house with it. West Elm has a really great modern curved screen I'm getting for ours. I've been searching forever for one that's not all swirly or overly traditional.
